Chosen projects / papers

LUNEX Prosper - Tech Innovation and Future Outlook Lead - 2024

Lunex Prosper is the next generation's blueprint towards a sustainable human presence on the Moon. The project was done in collaboration with the Luxembourg Space Agency. My contribution lies in team and project management (I led a team of 18 people in 7 time zones, focusing on 6 main research directions), research on challenges and tech solutions in lunar mining, manufacturing in low gravity, and lunar dust mitigation strategies. In addition, I analyzed current and foreseeable challenges and risks in lunar exploration and habitation, and designed strategic scenarios of the lunar economy, including potential industries and technological advancements.

A Framework for Mars Sample Return - Team and Project Lead - 2022

This project was born thanks to Lockheed Martin sponsoring one of the working groups on Mars Sample Return during 3 days of the Space Generation Congress 2021. I first got involved as a moderator of this working group, and later we continued this as a separate project. In this project, we focus, from a science and engineering point of view, on how it is decided which research projects are most important and how to engage the different categories of stakeholders, and how do we guarantee findings are disseminated sufficiently, and how do we ensure that sample protection measures are adhered to?

Lunar Dust Mitigation - Team and Project Lead - 2021

As part of this project, I led the team of 4 to propose a Conceptual Design of a Lunar Dust Removing Vehicle as an independent European robotic mission based on the forefront dust mitigation tech. I contributed to the design of lunar dust cleaning systems that can operate in multiple environments, clean multiple surfaces, and collect the dust for scientific purposes. In addition, I contributed to the Lunar Exploration Technology Adaptive Roadmap as part of the Technical Unit Research for a Thriving Lunar Ecosystem.

Committees involvement

Deputy Project Manager at the International Project / Programme Management Committee (IPMC) Young Professionals' Workshop and Training Programme - 2022 - Present

Every year, I coach a team of young professionals during an 11-month program to help them deliver a research paper and recommendations for project managers on the challenges and opportunities in the space sector. As a result of the programme, all teams of Young Professionals present their work at the IPMC workshop one day before the International Astronautical Congress and at one of its technical sessions. I focus on the topics of innovation in the space sector, commercial space, and NewSpace. In addition, as a Deputy Project Manager, I aid in facilitating all operational activities of the programme.

Global Expert Group on Sustainable Lunar Activities (GEGSLA) of Moon Village Association (MVA) - Lunar Technical Coordination Working Group - 2023 - Present

As part of this group, I focus on the coordination of technical aspects, including standards, protocols, information sharing, and infrastructure requirements, with a focus on interoperability.

Nonprofit organization development

Health & Help, US 501(c)(3) humanitarian aid organization, female-led - 2018 - 2022

I devoted 4 years to the nonprofit organization Health & Help, most of it in the Development Officer (Fundraiser) position. Health & Help is dedicated to delivering basic medical care to people in detached rural communities of Guatemala and Nicaragua. During my time in the organization, as one of the examples, I supported the running of a program aimed at malnourished children leading to multiple detached villages being covered, recruited and led the grant writing team, set up a foundation for the medicine and patients accounting system, and carried out strategic planning, grant writing, grant reporting, and partnership building with foundations and organizations.
